Liposuction

Liposuction is a plastic surgery procedure that uses suction to remove fat from specific areas of the body such as the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, arms or neck.

Why Liposuction?

Liposuction is used to remove exercise- and diet-resistant fat from certain areas of the body, such as the abdomen, upper arms, buttocks, thighs, calves, chest and back, hips and thighs, chin and buttocks. In addition, liposuction is sometimes preferred as a suitable surgery for breast reduction or gynecomastia treatment.

When you gain weight, the number and volume of fat cells in your body increases. Liposuction reduces the number of fat cells in a specific area. The amount of fat removed depends on the appearance and fat volume of the area. The changes that occur in the body after liposuction are permanent as long as there is no change in the weight ratio.

Liposuction Techniques

Liposuction may vary in operation size. This depends on how much fat is removed from which part of the body.

Radio Frequency-assisted liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure that uses thermal energy to remove unwanted fat.

Radio Frequency waves liquefy the fat and in this method it is absorbed from the body through a cannula. At the same time, radio frequency stimulates collagen production under the skin.

In Tumescent Liposuction, fat cells are inflated using lidocaine and epinephrine. This makes it easier to identify and remove the fat cells.

Anesthetic is injected into the fat pockets to inflate the fat cells and a suction device with a cannula attached is used to remove the fat cells.

The advantages of Tumescent Liposuction are that it does not cause much bleeding and bruising, but it does not have the best technological advances.

Ultrasound-assisted liposuction uses high-frequency sound waves that can create high amounts of energy and focus on fat tissues and facilitate the dissolution of fat cells.

This technique, which is especially effective in removing fat from the hard parts of the body, is very effective in shaping the body. During this procedure, the fats in the body are liquidized with ultrasonic energy with the help of a metal rod placed in the body by the doctor and removed from the body quickly. The new generation UAL is called Vaser Liposuction.

Laser-assisted liposuction is very similar to ultrasound-assisted liposuction, only it facilitates the dissolution of fat cells using a laser.

In laser-assisted liposuction, a small laser fiber and cannula are used to suck out the liquefied fat. As a result, LAL is faster and requires small incisions without scarring. It is also easier to maintain control with laser-assisted procedures, which means the results can be more precise. Your surgeon can give you the natural look you want.

Power-assisted liposuction uses a cannula attached to an oscillating hand piece, a popular body contouring technology.

The vibration provided by the oscillating handpiece helps break down dense fatty tissue faster and easier, resulting in a faster recovery.

Suction-assisted liposuction is the oldest type of liposuction. In this type of liposuction, small incisions are made on the operation area. A needle called a cannula is inserted through the incisions to suck out the fat cells.

Suction-assisted liposuction has a few disadvantages. It causes more bleeding and bruising than other types of liposuction and it is more difficult to control fat removal. People often need more than one treatment to achieve the results they want.

People who are over 18 years of age and who have been tested to have no general health problems can undergo liposuction operation. At this point, the opinion of the physician is very important.

Liposuction is not a weight loss method, so it is not used for weight loss. However, it is an effective method when body shaping is targeted.

It depends on the decision of the physician and how much fat is removed from the body during liposuction. In small-scale operations, patients can be discharged from the hospital on the same day, while larger-scale operations may require hospitalization.

Since small incisions are made during the procedure, unnoticeable scars may remain. However, ultrasound-assisted liposuction produces very successful results in terms of no scarring.

One stitch is placed at the points where the cannula enters the body.

Although it may vary from person to person and depending on the size of the procedure, patients can return to their daily lives 4-5 days after the operation.
