Causes of Hair Loss in Female

Some of the factors that cause hair loss in women are genetic, while others are due to external factors. In addition to these, changes in the female body during certain periods can also trigger hair loss.

Pregnancy, which causes great stress on a woman’s body, is one of the important factors that cause hair loss. Pregnancy, which can affect hormone balance, bone density, hair health and dental health, also tends to deplete the body’s resources. Stress can therefore be expected to manifest in various ways. Hair loss is one of these symptoms.

Another period that causes dramatic changes in the female body, especially in metabolism and hormone balance, is menopause.

Hair Transplant Techniques

There are various methods and techniques for Hair Transplantation Operation.

Sapphire FUE is the same as the original FUE technique except for the blade used in the hair transplantation process. In this method, instead of a razor blade or steel, a sapphire blade is used to create channels in the scalp during hair transplantation.

The follicles collected from the donor area are transplanted to the areas of need where channels are created with sapphire blades. Opening the channels is the most important part of the hair transplantation process because it affects the density, angle and direction of the hair.

FUE hair transplantation is one of the most widely applied hair transplantation methods today. Although it is a more challenging, delicate and labor-intensive method of application, it has become a widely used method due to its medical and cosmetic results.

With the FUE method, the hair transplant specialist collects the follicles in the areas where the hair produces strong, high quality and lush hair. The collection process is done with the "punch" method using specially produced needles. After the harvesting process, the collected follicles are transplanted into the pores previously opened with a special device in areas where hair is sparse or where there is no hair at all.

Since the pores need to be opened separately for the transplantation of the hair in this procedure, the procedure requires patience from both the patient and the specialists performing the operation. Depending on the number of follicles to be transplanted, the entire procedure may take from 4 hours to 8 hours.

Afterwards, both the donor area and the transplanted area are dressed and covered with bandages. This is necessary to protect the operated areas and to prevent infection of the operated area.

Although the DHI method is fundamentally quite similar to the FUE method, it differs from the FUE method with some subtle differences that arise in the details of implementation.

Perhaps the most fundamental difference between DHI and FUE is the tools used. In the DHI method, thinner application tools called Choi pens are used instead of punch needles. Choi pens come in many sizes, but the thickest one is 1 mm in diameter. The hair transplant specialist can choose the diameter of the Choi pen according to the characteristics of the patient's hair follicles.

The DHI method is the least invasive of the hair transplantation methods. Thanks to the more delicate and sensitive instruments used during the DHI method, the possibility of damage to the skin around the root during the removal of hair follicles is minimized. Moreover, whether the operation is successful or unsuccessful, there is no possibility of scarring or scar tissue formation with the DHI method.

Another difference of the DHI method compared to the FUE method is that there is no pore opening phase before the hair transplantation. This difference in the application allows the hair follicles to spend less time outside the skin after collection and thus increases the chance of the transplanted follicles to adhere to the scalp, as well as the rate of follicles that manage to adhere to the hair.

The DHI method is more dependent on the dexterity and sleight of hand of the specialist performing the procedure. Therefore, both the total duration of the operation and the results obtained are closely related to the experience level of the specialist.

Since hair transplantation is a procedure performed under local anesthesia, patients do not feel pain.

The duration of the operation depends on the number of follicles to be transplanted and the speed of the hair transplant specialist. However, it can be completed in 4 hours or it can take up to 8 hours.

Medically, there is no age limit. However, experts recommend intervention after natural hair loss is completed or slowed down. Individuals from 20 to 65 years of age can have hair transplantation.
It is usually possible to dye the hair within 3 months. Patients who do not want to take risks and want to be sure can wait up to 6 months.
There are many products developed to prevent hair loss, some of which have been scientifically proven to work. However, if hair loss is not due to temporary external factors and these conditions are not eliminated, hair loss will continue. Even in cases where hair loss is due to such external factors, if the conditions that cause hair loss continue long enough, hair loss can reach a peak and reach an irreversible point. In such cases, the most definitive and permanent solution is hair transplantation.

In hair transplantation, the roots to be transplanted to the balding area are usually taken from the nape area. The roots in this area are generally known for never falling out. For this reason, it is not expected that the transplanted hair will fall out after a successful hair transplant operation. However, shock loss can be observed between 1-3 months after the hair transplant operation, but this loss is not permanent.
